Would you pay to go to a party

Not an invitation type thing, but if someone were holding a party in a small local hall (think KOC), for kids, halloween (not on the actual day). Price per family is $20 in advance $25 at the door, includes buffett, soda, coffee, cake, favors, games and a costume contest (3 seperate contests boys girls and baby) would you pay?

Re: Would you pay to go to a party

If it were for an organization - maybe

If it was just a mom planning a party - no

If people I knew would be there, probably.

If it was going to a good cause, definitely as long as it fit in my schedule.

Re: Would you pay to go to a party

personally, no I wouldn't..

I had a friend who threw a party in the summer at a public state park and asked for checks made out to her and husband..the best part was it was "bring a dish" also...just had to share that story since this reminded of that time -LOL

Re: Would you pay to go to a party

I probably would, as long as I knew other people there. It seems that the cost would cover the food, etc. so it's not like the person having the party would be making money off it. Besides, the more opportunities for the kiddos to wear their costumes, the better!

I agree with both.

ACtually that's a great price per family.
One organization Im part of had a Family BBQ this summer and it was $17pp non members (im a member, hubby is not).
WE werent able to go since we had other plans, but Ive heard of places charging before.

Re: Would you pay to go to a party

The money wouldnt be going into my pocket. I just thought it would be a nice way to get the families in my neighborhood together. While I would love to have it at home 25-30 toddlers and little kids running around my house doesnt sound to keen to me.

I would actually be taking a loss since at this place its $20 A PERSON and $12 per child 5-12

I probably would if it was with family/friends I knew since all bases are covered and it would be a good time for all with no effort on my part.
I probably wouldn't care if the person planning it made some money on it if that was their business so long as I knew I wasn't getting ripped off but $20 for a night with food and games for a family sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I definitely would - especially if it was a Halloween party. I don't know why, but that kinda makes a difference to me.

ETA: Great idea!!
