Would you rather do a Caribbean cruise or stay at a resort with a 2yo and 4yo?
We are planning a trip to the Caribbean in March/April with a 2yo and 4yo.
Would you rather do a Caribbean cruise or just stay at a resort?
DH already said yes to the Disney Fantasy out of Florida. Now I'm thinking a resort may be better.

Even though you won't be able to leave the 2yo unsupervised, they will have a blast on the Disney Cruise. There is plenty for them to do, and it is so easy having the ship geared toward kids. The shows were really awesome. They have characters around all the time too. I would recommend the cruise over a Caribbean resort vacation - I think kids will be bored just hanging by the beach or pool all day.

I just asked on the other Disney cruise thread but will there be activities that my 2yo can participate while we watch them?
Is there a playroom type place where he will be able to play safely? I don't need other people to watch him. We will be there with him.
I know some cruise ships are strict with toddlers not being allowed in the pools, even with swim diapers.

They can go in the pools. We went on the Dream and they had a splash park called Nemos Reef that would be perfect for him. There are some activities for him, but the playroom for the kids his age is for babysitting - not for supervised play, and the club for the older kids wont let him in at 2.
DD was 18 months when we went last month and we were plenty busy, but she did not participate in any kids activities.
Feel free to FM if you have any specific questions.

You can put both kids in babysitting. Problem is that younger would go to the nursery for children up to 3, while the other would go to the kid's club.
I would also choose the cruise and if you want a lot of beach do beach excursions.
Also, fyi, we looked into staying at Atlantis this year and all the reviews I read said that four would be a real minimum age for kids to enjoy even their kiddie water area. Many even said six.
eta. I just read the other thread and my understanding is that the nursery does plenty of led activities and there are also times when you can take both your kids to the kids club to use the amenities like an open play.

We did a cruise with our dd's 2 and 4. We all had a great trip. We were on a carnival ship so the girls could go to camp together which they both enjoyed and we enjoyed the alone time. I like cruises because you get the pools, the beach days and you can do different activities or camp during other days.

Agreed... Hate cruising! You have more freedom on a resort. Cruise is too cooped up esp with my active kid- torture
