Would you risk doing a petting zoo at home in late March/early April?
Trying to start planning Ryan's 3rd party. If we have our family room extension complete, I might do something at home. His birthday is March 21. How late can I push off his party to coincide with decent weather?

Re: Would you risk doing a petting zoo at home in late March/early April?
I was just thinking if I could do one in Late April/Early May.
I would say no to March, possible April. DD was born on 4/22 and it was rainy and chilly when we left the hospital 3 days later, yet sometimes it can be in the high 70's. Total crap shoot.

What about doing his party at a place since you are unsure of your house extension and doing it for Colin's 2nd b-day instead?
BTW - do you think my backyard is big enough for that?

I wouldn't do it. The weather is so unpredictable in March and even in April IMO.
Why not go to a Bounce and Play type place?

After seeing Julia's 2nd birthday pics I want a petting zoo sooo bad. Think I can get away with it in Feb?
Ugh... Why didn't I plan her birthday out better

Yes, I think you're fine. I looked on the website - doesn't look that big.
I was thinking for Colin's bday but I'm vowing not to do big for him until age 3. Ryan's 2nd birthday party was a pointless $1200 down the drain
You can def. do Alexandra's!

Yes.
Do any of you think I can talk my ILs into lending me their back yard so I can do this for Luke's birthday maybe 2 or 3 years from now? (laughing but I'm so serious!)

My next child, if I can control it in any manner, will not have a cold weather birthday!

See now Luke has a summer birthday - I'm wondering how stinky that would be in the heat.
Should we just have all the kid's bdays at one person's house, split the house and sing Happy 1st, 2nd, 3rd birthday to all ?

I loathe the bounce places. I'm a little claustrophic - those places freak me out.

Yes, bc I feel like your property is wide enough.
Doing it for Alexandra's 1st b-day would be a waste for her but fun for the other kids I invite....ugh....let me get through her christening first and then I'll start on the b-day.
I think I know what I want to do for Elizabeth's 4th already Do you think they would dress up the animals in costumes for Halloween? I'm kinda serious! I want to do a halloween costume party next year.
Rebecca - your ILs should totally lend you their backyard!!!

I went to a party this summer where they had the ponies. It was a REALLY hot day and there was virtually no animal stink.

Right, maybe I should approve the architect's draft and submit our permits before I plan parties in an imaginary space and screw myself.
