Would you say something?

OK, so Lucas has been going to daycare 3 days a week for a couple of weeks now.

DH has dropped him off and picked him up more than I have, but I have also done it a couple of times.

DH has asked me if I have noticed that the girl in the morning is not overly happy or personable when he drops Lucas off. She doesn't really greet them with big smiles... that is what I would expect in a room for 1 year old babies.

I have also noticed that I have to really ask questions to get them to give me information about his day. I would kind of expect them to voluntarily give me that information. The first day I was dropping Lucas off, I would have thought they would have been more helpful for a "first time" mommy, but they really didn't give me any information without me having to ask for it.

Would you say something to the director? I want someone in the morning to greet my shy little man with smiles and happiness. I really feel like this is something that would make me take him out of this facility to find another one. Chat Icon (and I know that there are sometimes bigger issues, but to me this is big enough)

Re: Would you say something?

Oh I would def say something!

You would have to imagine that these children are a little scared going to a place where mommy & daddy aren't.... a smile would do wonders to welcome them!

That would definitely bother me....even if she isn't a morning person, she should fake it. I would speak to the director.

OK, I think I am going to see what kind of reception I get when I drop off and pick him up on Thursday and Friday. If there is no improvement, I am going to talk to the director.

As someone who trains people on customer service skills, this makes me nuts! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
