I disagree apparently with most people.
It depends. Was the cut/stitches on his/her face? WHat type of scar will be left. Did a plastic surgeon sew them up and how was it handled.
I feel differently, that it is my providers responsility to make sure my kid does not get seriously hurt at day care. Interestingly I would not sue for broken bones or other injuries that would heal completely.
But I would definately consider it if there would be a scar on the face and I thought there was any chance that my dd or ds would want that scar fixed in the future.
I love my provider and highly doubt I would ever sue, but it would really depend on the situation.

Not unless I felt there was some real neglect going on. Kids get injured all the time Day Care or not, accidents happen. It would really depend on the circumstances and if the child was constantly getting seriously injured.

No. People are sue happy. Unless it intentionally happened, make sure the child gets the medical attention needed and leave it alone.
Accidents HAPPEN.
