Wow, humor no place in the insurance game
We had to get new homeowners insurance since Allstate seems to believe we live in a high flood zone (which we DO NOT, there isnt any water anywhere near us but I digress). Anywho, we got new insurance and they have called us everyday since Feb 15 with different questions, only to send a cancellation notice the next day about whatever they called about.
Well On Monday we got a call from them asking us what kind of dog we had, so my DH tells them a killer PUG and laughed, the woman said ok I'll note that. You guessed it, got a cancellation notice yesterday. Call this morning, was told we need to have a license for vicious dogs over 50lbs annnnnd extra coverage. My husband said Ma'm the dog weighs about 15lbs and runs and hides if the bell rings. Apparently this woman thought pugs and pits were 1 in the same.

I know it sucks that you had to keep calling back, but what on earth was that woman thinking? She thought a killer pug was real? What an idiot! And even if there really WAS such a thing as a "killer" pug, who on earth would actually use that name with an insurance company! I would have said "docile pug" if that was its name!

 OK, I swear it wasn't me, but I don't really know my pugs from pitbulls. I have never had a dog & no one in my family has a dog.
I would have guessed anyone who admitted to having a "killer" dog was joking though!
I would thing they would have a list of "blacklist: breeds or something though.

Now that is insane. When we were buying homeowners I remember the woman telling us that we could have difficulty with insurance and some dog breeds. My husband said, "well, we are in big trouble because we have a dachshund." Imagine if she took that seriously?
