Wow- I feel so mislead...
so I am always preaching about how great the David Bach finacial books are to anyone that would listen
and they are- don't get me wrong
but I get weekly newsletter from him and last week they had a thing to sign up for coaching
if you met certain critia you would be choosen- made no mention of any cost- made it seem like they would help you- in exchange for using you in a book or seminar
I was beyond excited when I got the call on Saturday saying "I was one of thousands of people that applied and got picked"
I was suppose to have my call at 8pm
I had all my spread sheets and questions ready to go
AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE A SALES PITCH
THEY WANTED $50 TO $400 A MONTH TO HELP ME
how about I take that $400 and invest it you idiot
I just feel bad for the people that fall for these things
I am truly disappointed

Re: Wow- I feel so mislead...
I would never pay money for personal finance advice. I think that pretty much defeats the whole purpose in saving one's money.
There's so much great info for free online, or you can take books out of the library.

Re: Wow- I feel so mislead...
Still getting email- trying to pressure me into signing up
this is what I wrote back.......
I understand what you are looking for- but from the phone calls I have gotten- 3 so far- the words used are "choosen", almost like I won a contest to be helped
it's very misleading- no mention of payment ever
why would I want to spend $400 a month- that seems counterproductive to my goals
I can read books and info on line for free and keep on applying what I learn and invest that $400 a month, invest it and retire with a million extra- that seems like something David Bach would encourge- which is why I am disppointed and feel like this great author I rave about is on the same level as a cheesy infomerical

Re: Wow- I feel so mislead...
Certified financial planners get paid to advise..I would pay for pro advice but not like that.
Fee based services are one thing, but that is so scammie...scummie even!

I love Suze but I think even she sells a little too much. Too many products
Sorry about your dissappointment,

Re: Wow- I feel so mislead...
In all honesty, I guess we need to give some of these "financially frugal" people credit for coming up with a way to rake in the big bucks.
