Wow the Federal Gov.....

actually made me feel good last night. So We filed our taxes about 7 weeks ago and had our refund direct deposited to our bank account. Well I noticed when I look at my Bank account online yesterday that they deposited $1500 less then what we files for.
So I went to the IRS website last night and saw a link for check "my return" clicked it and it brought up all my info and as big warning flashed in front of me saying there was an error on my tax forms and that they have made the changes and this resulted in less of a return so I was like what the fu.... Then I saw a link for "see your mistake" lol I click it and it tells me that the Social # for my 11 month old son is wrong by 1 number! Again
So I go back to the beginning and noticed that they had a 800# and said the hours were till 10pm. So here it at 9:45pm and I call and get a guy name Joseph who can't speak a word of English but was the nicest gentlemen. I tell him my problem and give him a case number that the website gave me and puts me on hold for a min and then comes back and says you will get refund the $1500 in less then 7 days!!! I was amazed I thought I was going to have to do some kind of Amended form. I was so Happy and this guy was soooo nice.
Anyways thats my story....

your lucky

my DHs account never sent in his 04 return- so they are holding out 06 refund hostage (we owed in 05)

we sent it in on monday and she told me it's going to be 6 to 8 weeks before I get my refund

but the good news is- we are now also getting one for 04- when we orginally did it it was break even

so 7 days sounds great!
