WR: How much to spend on shower gift?

I'm so annoyed right now. My daughter and I are in my brother's wedding party, Sarah is the only flower girl. I already spent $200 on my dress, $100 on Sarah's. The shower is this Sunday, each of us is paying $250, and I was told by the MOH not to get another gift, the shower is the gift from the bridal party. Plus we're paying for a bachelorette party in about a month.

Get an email from one of the other girls today saying that she bought FSIL a bunch of sexy underwear from Victoria's Secret, what did everyone else get her. So now I have to get her a gift sometime this week, and have no idea what to spend. I don't want to look cheap, but I'm not made of money either.

Thanks.

If you were told by the MOH that the shower was the brides gift, I wouldn't worry about getting anything else.
Sounds like this other girl wanted to do something extra. You shouldn't feel like you "need or should" get her anything else.

I would probably buy a little something-Maybe a holiday gift basket- you can get some inexpensive decorations and put them in a basket/bag...wrap it up pretty and you're done- you can do it as $$$$$$ or $$ as you want.

Or even a honeymoon gift bag-a travel book for where they are going, a magazine, sunscreen, Just married flip flops- you could probably do it for $50.00 or so...

I would not feel OBLIGATED, but would probably do something if I were in your situation

Thanks everyone. I was thinking around $100, but didn't know if that wasn't enough.

I have a huge holiday basket from my daughter and I did the honeymoon one for her birthday last month since I thought we weren't doing gifts.

Just so don't have the time to run out this week, have a bunch of other appts lined up this week. Oh well.....
