Wrap a wool coat NOW or wait till its closer to the holidays?

I bought my DH a wool coat for the holiday and it's currently hanging up and hiding in the back of a closet that we share. I doubt he will have any desire to randomly look back there and it's covered with an opaque plastic bag over the hanger. I'm just wondering now about the 'what ifs' .. and if he happens to look back there for some random reason... maybe if he's looking for something.. So I'd actually feel more comfortable having it wrapped.

What do you ladies think? It's a large wool coat... is it better to keep it hung for all that time rather than folded or does it not make much of a difference? I just don't want him to open it and see that it's creased or something.

can you get a big enough box that you dont have to folded until closer to the holidays

The problem is I just dont know where I'd store a really big box.. so I feel like it's either wrap it or hide it in the back of the closet


I considered bringing it to my parents and hiding it in my old bedroom.... but I can totally see my dad blurting out in front of my dh one day "so when are you gonna come pick up that coat?"

can you put a big black garbage bag over top of it instead of the clear bag? would that deter him if he went wandering?

I would not wrap it yet...I would take it to your parents house and maybe dont tell her dad - would he notice it hanging in your old bedroom? Or else leave it where it is but cover it up better - black bag or something and maybe hang a dress of yours in there too just in case he opens it...that might deter him from snooping further.
