Wrecked nail help!
I posted a few weeks ago about how my nails got destroyed from a powder gel mani. I bought Nail tek but they are just peeling and every time they grow a little, they just peel right back down to nubs.
Anyone have something they use that REALLY works to heal damaged, soft, peeling nails?

Wrecked nail help!
make sure you use a moisturizer or oil. I find my nails are super dry from the gel/powder products.
I take hand lotion and just put a tiny drop and rub it into my nails. Take a while but helps

Re: Wrecked nail help!
I once had incredibly horrible nail damage from using gel. It took nearly 5 months for them to grow back in properly. They kept flaking, breaking, chipping and it was horrible. I put olive oil on my fingers to keep them moisturized and increased my calcium intake. I think time is really the only thing that truly helped them.

Re: Wrecked nail help!
Yeah I am guessing the damage just has to grow out but it's hard to even keep polish on now because it just peels and chips right off.
I would keep them unpolished but my nails are so discolored from wearing polish all the time that they look horrendous and I often have meetings with clients, etc where I need to look professional.
I read about the soaking in olive oil every night. I might have to try to make time to do that nightly. Or maybe the coconut oil I use on my face at night as a night cream, maybe I can use that on my nails too
I already take a hair skin and nail vitamin for what it's worth. Who knows if that helps or not but it can't hurt

Re: Wrecked nail help!
I took wraps off my nails and they were super damaged. It took a while for them to grow out. Keeping them super moisturized is the only thing that helped keep them from splitting and peeling. I constantly rubbed Aquaphor into the nails.

Wrecked nail help!
After my nails weakening from gel manicures, I started to use Pro-Strong. It changed my nails...best thing I purchased. I bought it from QVC

Re: Wrecked nail help!
I have a cuticle stick from posh that I keep in my purse. I rub it in all day long. My nails are so dry and they always peel. A main lasts a day at best for me. When I keep up with the stick for a long time it helps. If you can't get the posh one maybe get one of those cuticle oil brushes for your purse and apply it constantly.

Wrecked nail help!
My nails suck big time. I've never been able to grow my nails past the tips of my fingers ever. I usually just settle for having my nails neat and look as best as they can. Lately I've been really trying to grow my nails at least to the tips of my fingers and this is what has been helping.
I use this Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength https://www.sallyhansen.com/nails/nail-care/strength-growth/diamond-strength-instant-nail-hardener-0 or OPI's Nail Envy but I think I get better results from the Sally Hansen product and its cheaper also.
I also make my own nail oil using 1/3 Coconut Oil, 1/3 Almond Oil, 1/3 Jojoba Oil and a splash of Vitamin E oil. I also add a few drops of either lavender or Orange essential oil for scent. When I remember to use the oil my nails grow great and they look like I just got a manicure.
I've heard great things about MyKissBliss nail oil. It comes in a little applicator pen that makes it easy to apply.
