Writiing Workshop in Kindergarten...All About Books
I'm new to writing workshop and to kindergarten this year. I was wondering if anyone has a good checklist or poster to share that they use to teach All Abouts in Kindergarten. Thanks!

Re: Writiing Workshop in Kindergarten...All About Books
I would try to explain the the class that an information book is something that "tells" you things you would want to know about a topic you enjoy.
Gail Gibbons is a good mentor author for "all about books".
I would let the students know that author write about things they care about...animals, places, people, activities
You could even model for them by using a brainstorm map.
Illustrate a picture that shows important information regarding the topic. Tell/write a few facts about their topic (about 2-3 things)
And the ending is about how the author feels about the topic.
Ex... Disneyworld is full of so many things to see, it's a lot of fun to visit.
