Writing my Self Evaluation-HELP!!
Anyone have any words of wisddom?
I hate this..I know I'm wonderful, but how do you put that into an evaluation. You know you can't say I'm wonderful!!!!!

We have to do Year-End Evals which are self evals as well and I know they are pretty hard to write.
What field are you in?
Is there anything we can do to help?

I'm in a pretty similar position. We do evaluations too, but they are forms that you have to grade yourself on in a number of areas and then add any strengths or weaknesses on the bottom.
Did you work on any major projects? Did you arrange any big meetings. Did you tackle an awkward situation in a helpful way?

I'm in a pretty similar position. We do evaluations too, but they are forms that you have to grade yourself on in a number of areas and then add any strengths or weaknesses on the bottom.
Did you work on any major projects? Did you arrange any big meetings. Did you tackle an awkward situation in a helpful way?
I don't really have project work, but I spoke to one of the other MDs and she suggested I bullet point my job and add comments to each about my abilities and successes.

I have to summarize my performance and add my contributions.
This is difficult for a person in an administrative capacity. Basically anything she needs, I do. I'm not sure if I should itemize the personal things I do for her or state about certain things she was involved in that were very high profile..

I wouldn't mention the personal stuff, but definitely the high-profile work she was invloved in. Basically, you are her back-up, so any deals she worked on you should reference.

focus on what you excel at and at the bottom name a few things that you can improve on or want to expand your knowledge on.
definitely pick something you want to learn.... like a good corporate citizen

If it's anything like my place, she will read it, review it with you and then it goes to HR to be put in your file. I would mention the confidential business, just not the specifics. I would say "assisted in all aspect of so and so deal to the successful conculsion", mention any late nights, that kind of thing. I do that, and I support the GC on the most confidential of matters.
