WW people...your experiences??
Ok..My plan is to eat my butt off until the day after New Years...we will have tons of leftovers, and after that, go on a much needed diet.
I really want to join weight watchers. But I hate doing things alone, especially things like this. I was thinking of joining online, but 04bride (Noel) said that the meetings really help. Should I feel odd in going alone? Do a lot of people go alone or mainly with friends?
I have never been..also, I know so many people who have lost weight on ww...does anyone have any good experiences with it?

Definitely go to the meetings. No one is judging you - everyone there is in the same boat. I go by myself. I personally tried to do it solely online and it did not work.

I mostly have gone by myself. Almost everyone does, and then you meet peopel there.
I know you work in Bayside... do you live around here too. I am going to get my butt back soon too.

I go alone- every saturday morning in Selden. Although I wish I did have someone to go with, eventually you start talking to the other members. For me it is NECESSARY.

I think online is entirely online--you don't go to meetings. If I remember correctly you can go to meetings but still pay to do the eTools--it is the system where you can log your points in online and check point values. It is an additional cost to paying to go in person.

Re: WW people...your experiences??
I loved WW when I did it in NY. Definately go to the meetings. You really meet a great support system and everyone is so wonderful. I loved the group I was with. They made you feel like your loss was their loss and if you gained they made you feel better and tomorrow was always a new day. They were amazing.
I lost over 30 pounds and Dh lost over 50.
I am starting it up again this week and I cant wait. I love love love WW. I honestly loved it so much I really wanted to be a leader.

While I do go woith friends I have gone a lone. I have no problem going alone, and lots of people do. It helps to goto the meetings.

Re: WW people...your experiences??
I've done it all - I've gone with friends to meetings, I've gone alone to meetings, but now I do ww online just because it is working for me.
Eventually I will go back to meetings (when I am close to goal) which is a LONG LONG LONG way off for me right now
As a first timer, I'd reccomend you go to the meetings and get a hang of how everything is. They're not as scary as you would think, I actually think they're fun! Good luck!

Re: WW people...your experiences??
I just started last week doing it online. My mom has lost a TON of weight over the last year on this and she is helping me get started. With my schedule, going to meetings would be difficult. I really like the online system, they have practically every food in their point database so you know exactly how much things are. If you need a lot of support I think the meetings would help you and I think most people go alone so you shouldn't feel wierd about it. Good luck!!

I went to the meetings but I had to bring my son. I was nervous too, but it actually helped me feel less nervous.

Re: WW people...your experiences??
i love WW. i lost 20lbs 3 years ago and it wasn't even that hard. I agree with the other girls about going to the meetings as to doing it online. I did both and going to the meetings kept me on track better than online.
i'm going back tomorrow and i cannot wait. i know if i put my mind to it, i will loose the weight. It really works !!
Good Luck !

You won't believe how motivating the meetings are until you attend one.
I think it is free registration now and I also think they will let you attend a meeting for free to see if you like I think I'm not sure.
No matter how good or bad I am I never miss my weekly meeting!

Re: WW people...your experiences??
I love weight watchers, but I can not stay at my lifetime weight at all. It kills me. I'm thinking about raising it to the highest weight on the "normal" scale.
