WWYD - carseat related
Because god forbid I make a move without asking you guys.
Tyler is going to be five months on the 15th. He is heavy as hell, but the infant seat is so convienient, especially with Jack.
I really wanted to keep him in it until mid April, when it's nicer out and I don't need the Posh Pouch (like the Bundle Me) anymore.
We are getting a minivan on Thursday so I'll have the carseats installed on Friday.
Would you install the infant base again and use that for as long as I possibly can.
Or would you have them install the convertible carseat (Which would really really really really suck to use right now)
I don't mind going back to the installer a month from now, they are only ten minutes away.
Any thoughts?

if you dont mind going to the installer a 2nd time b/c its close and no trouble, i would install the infant seat. they are convenient and you have 2 kids...so u have to do whats easiest for you.

Re: WWYD - carseat related
do whatever is more convenient, which sounds like the infant seat. Although , do you just take him out and carry him or lug him around in the seat?
We just stopped using the infant seat, Katie is 19 months (she just hit 20lbs) but I stopped carrying her around in the seat when she was like 7 months or so

Tyler was 19lbs at 4 months. This thing is so heavy!

Re: WWYD - carseat related
If he is comfortable in the infant carrier I would keep him in that. The last month of me using mine with each kid I left the carrier in the car and would just take them out.

If it's easy for you to go back in a month to have them install the new one, have the infant seat installed now. I LOVED being able to use that thing until the very end of winter too (C was 9 months).

Re: WWYD - carseat related
I would switch to the convertible at this point. He is already 19 Lbs. He won't be able to use it much longer. We are already in March. You would be only be buying a few weeks for April to switch anyway.

Re: WWYD - carseat related
Definitely reinstall the infant base if he still fits in it. Madelyn is still in hers and I'm dreading putting her in the convertible seat. It is just SO much easier to just snap her in esp when my Kaitlyn still fights me 40% of the time to get into her seat. As you said the weather will be nicer soon and then you can switch. I would stick with carrying it for now. We have the snugride 32 and Madelyn was 19 lbs at her last appt so I hear you about it being heavy - but I would rather lug the heavy seat for as long as I can for the convenience.

I would have them install the infant car seat and go back when you are ready to change.
I agree that the infant carrier is so much easier if you are using a snap n go, if he falls asleep, etc. I plan on using it until DS hits the weight limit (DD was in it until she was 13 months).
