WWYD - finding out the sex w/ Poll
Hi Ladies -
I need some advice.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted my baby's sex to be a surprise, and I still feel that way.
HOWEVER, my husband wants to find out. I'm feeling really torn and here's one of the reasons why: I had a miscarriage in January which hit us both very hard, but my husband had a much harder time with it than I expected. He was devastated and now with this new pregnancy, he is finally at the point where he feels excited and I think finding out the sex is something that he feels would help him bond with the baby. I, however, really want that surprise, so we can't come to an agreement.
So...my question is, given the situation would you find out the sex? For those of you who didn't want to find out and your SO did, what did you end up doing?

We were in the same situation. I ended up agreeing to find out and at my 20 week sono, the tech could not tell the sex, so it worked out for me. The 2nd baby I wanted to know too though. It was definately nice to have a surprise the first time around. Why don't you have the tech write it down for dh and he's not allowed to tell anyone nor you. So it can be a surprise for you and everyone else.

I would not find out until you can both come to an agreement.
I kind of left it up to DH. Originally we both wanted it to be a surprise, but then my cousin passed away and for some reason it made him really want to find out. In the end we decided to leave it a surprise.

for DC #1, we both wanted to find out, but DH moreso than me.
this time i feel very, very strongly about not finding out and i explained why to DH so he agreed.
my personal opinion is that whoever feels the strongest about it, wins. if your DH feels very strongly about finding out and you can live with that, i would find out. however if you would be upset if you found out, i would explain taht to him.

I always knew that with my first baby I would not want to know, I really want to be surprised. My DH wants to know so badly but I have slowly brought him over to my side. Right now we are both in agreement to wait until the baby is born to find out the sex but I know he is only agreeing b/c of me and my reasons for waiting to find out.

Yes we do want more children. That's a good way to do it!
To the poster who suggested writing it on a piece of paper for my husband only to see, that would be great except that my husband would NEVER be able to keep it quiet. He would accidentally let it slip, I know it!

I wouldn't find out. If you really want the surprise, I think you should be entitled.

I say yes because I find it easier to bond and also much easier to plan ahead. It's hard to get good gender neutral outfits.

We are team  ....I haven't had my level II yet and i'm hoping we don't get tempted to find out the baby's sex. I didn't want to know but my DH did.....so we compromised. We decided not to find out the sex of our FIRST baby....but we would for the second. So we are both happy with that decision.

Well Would you be okay with the Dr letting him know what the Sex of the baby is and Have him Promise you not to say a word to you or anyone else so you wont find out..
