So after being in the ER Saturday with the bleeding and bed rest until today, I'm going back to work (and of coarse have brown spotting again). Friday I am supposed to travel for work to PA to do a few screenings. We use company cars to travel and I won't have to drive. I want to talk to my boss today about sending someone else. I'll be 4 hours plus away from home for a good 16 hours Friday. I really don't want to go, I'm nervous about being far. Am I being crazy or would you go? I don't want to live in a bubble but I also don't want to risk having another issue and being far from home. My gut tells me don't go, but I also at the same time don't want anyone to think I can't do my job 100%.

I'd go. You already know your dx and there isn't really much you can do. Pregnancy is a long time and I'd try to live as normal of a life as possible.
But it's your personal preference, and you have to do what you're comfortable with.

Re: Wwyd
If you didn't just have a scare, that's one thing, but with everything going on and there being twins, I'd play it safe. And I'm not usually over cautious.

I feel like since the ER visit JUST happened a week ago, and especially since they put you on bed rest, I wouldn't chance it. But, you know your boss and your situation. Do you think your boss would understand?

I would go.. as you progress further in the pregnancy, there's a possibility of other issues arising (knock on wood for a healthy pregnancy), making it harder for you to travel like that. I am sure carrying twins is difficult, and you'll be very tired towards the end. I'm only carrying one, and couldn't imagine a 16 hour workday in my 3rd trimester... I think now that you're feeling pretty OK, you should go.

I agree with this. I'm usually more of a "you can't do anything" however, they put you on bed rest after the ER and dr so I would probably ask my boss to send someone else. If it happens again and you need to be put on best rest, what do you do if in PA?

If the spotting came back as soon as you ended bed rest, I'd be worried. Maybe you need to be on rest longer.

I would go. As your pregnancy progresses you may have to limit travel or take time off of work for appointments. It sounds like half your day will be spent sitting in a car with someone else driving-that should give you a chance to rest a bit.

I am leaning towards going. However, I think the pp makes a good point about the first day off bed rest and you have spotting again.
I think I would call the doctor and ask them if you need extended bed rest given this latest spotting. If so, definitely do not go. If they say no, then I would go.

Thanks for the feed back all. The spotting from this morning has stopped thankfully. I have a recheck on Tuesday to see if the hematoma site has shrunk. Typically I don't travel for work, maybe a few times a year. My boss is very flexible for the most part and understanding, however some stuff she is eh with, depending on her mood also. She's very nice, you just never know her response lol

I agree with this- especially pregnancy being a long time!
I would go- not much you could do even if (God forbid) something were to go wrong. Also, I would assume you haven't told your job yet?

My job knows. My boss knew long before I was even pregnant as we were using fertility treatments and I always had to leave for an hour or so to run for monitoring. I told my boss the day I found out. I work with kids and adults with autism as a behavior specialist so my job is intense at times.

Spoke with my boss. She doesn't blame me for not wanting to go- someone else from my department will be going!
