So I recieved a gift for DD from a friend of my mom's who I never see. Ever. She was sooooo thoughtful and generous to send Sydnie a gift but she sent a $75 trinket box (they call it jewlery box) from Tiffany's and I see no purpose in this at all. I think it's absurd to have a piece of porcelin or whatever worth that much money not to mention I just don't like it.  I woud much rather make up the differnece and get her something else from Tiffany like maybe an "S" pendant or something she will probably get more use out of.
Exchange or keep? She was thoughtful and generous to get it for her.

I got a few Tiffany gifts (dish set, first tooth limoge box) that I think are pointless. Honestly, I'll probably exchange them. If I were you, I would too!

it was really thoughtful and generous of her to get you such a sweet gift from tiffany's - but i am sure being the thoughtful person that she is, she wouldn't want you to keep something you don't like!
i would exchange it for something you will get more "use" out of - but i would probably only do it if there was no chance she would ever come to your house and see your nursery (because then she would notice that the box wasn't there).
