WWYD Re: clothes dryer
So...we inherited our clothes dryer when we moved in (washer, too)...the belt broke over the weekend and it's 8 years old-to get someone in is $150 (maybe $70, someone is recommending) but we can use cc points to get gc's and it might cost us $0-$100 in cash...wwyd??

Re: WWYD Re: clothes dryer
Since you asked what *I* would do, I would spend $5 to get a new belt and replace it myself. I've done that, and it's pretty easy. The belt I replaced has been running reliably for several years now.

If you have the money available, buy a new set. You'll get the tax credit and their efficiency is amazing!

I agree - we always try to fix things ourselves first. If you can't do it, then call the repair guy. I'd pay cash, don't waste your cc points for this...
