WWYD? Stroller/travel question
We are going to Disney and I'm not sure what stroller to bring for DD. When DS was 2 1/2 we went and took the Maclaren and it worked out great, but DD will only be 9 mos old. The Maclaren doesn't really recline good enough for napping and I'm sure she will probably be napping in it while we are at the parks. Would you bring your big, travel system stroller or the Maclaren?

Between the two I would def. bring your Maclaren. You don't want to lug the big travel system around Disney. Besides, if she's really exhausted she'll fall asleep even without the recline.
I brought my Maclaren to Italy with us (and Jack who always needed his crib to sleep) napped in the stroller the entire time bc he was shot.

Re: WWYD? Stroller/travel question
I was JUST about to post the same question
We're going to Disney in April and I'm not sure what to bring....we have the citi mini and a maclaren
What about when we all go on rides, how likely is it that the stroller will get stolen?
I would rather bring the citi mini b/c it has better shade and rolls a lot better
So are strollers pretty safe there? Or should we just buy a really cheap umbrella stroller?

Re: WWYD? Stroller/travel question
I would bring the other stroller - the Maclaren is not comfortable for napping and at 9 months they will nap more often. We brought our city mini double - and there were tons of nice strollers - just decorate yours will some strings or something bright to make it easier to spot. We never had any issues with our stroller and I was so thankful to have the city mini with us b.c DD took lots of naps in it and it has a full recline so she was comfortable. Also remember you will be lugging diapers, snacks etc to the parks and bottles etc. You will want the larger stroller to carry everything. I brought a diaper bag on clearance and just put in it diapers wipes and take and toss things - so if someone took it there was nothing of value - we left it on the stroller and it was great. We did this both trips and you will find many people do that. I would NOT leave anything of value just in case.

Re: WWYD? Stroller/travel question
I brought my jogging stroller for my 21 month old...it was great! It reclines and he napped wonderfully every day in it! We also bought an umbrella stroller for my 3 yr old....but the jogging stroller was not only great to move around bec of the wheels but it was also great with the mommy clip on the back to carry all our stuff

I agree. When DS is tired enough, he sleeps nicely in the Maclaren.

Re: WWYD? Stroller/travel question
I've heard of several strollers getting stolen before... I think your best bet is to take whichever stroller you and your kids will feel most comfortable in. If you're wary of getting it stolen, I'd suggest getting a stroller lock. There's one on the market now called Buggyguard, and it's cheaper than the combined stroller rental for a few days. If you don't want to spend the money I'd do something else to deter thieves, but I'd definitely suggest being cautious of stroller thieves. It's sad, but thieves are everywhere, even in the happiest place on earth.

It actually isn't that common to take strollers - but with the fact that many people have the same one people do grab the wrong one on occasion and I think get embarrassed so they just leave them where they realized that they did that (that happened to a friend). I know a lot of people who have gone and have never had an issue. Cast member move them around frequently so sometimes people think they are missing when they have just been relocated. But with anywhere you are leaving your things so there is always a slight chance - but it is not a huge problem there.
You actually can't lock the wheels (at least front to back. The cast members have to be able to move the strollers around so I think the only way you can use a lock is to lock the front wheels then they can move it tilted back.
The best thing to do it decorate your stroller with bright string or something else that is attention getting so it is less likely someone would want to walk with it.

Re: WWYD? Stroller/travel question
Bring whatever stroller she'll nap in. If it means the travel system stroller, then bring it. It's really not a big deal when you think about it... you're mostly pushing it all day so it doesn't really matter if it's a bit heavier than the maclaren. Friends of ours go to disney every year (from NY) and we meet up with them and always bring their travel system stroller.
