WWYD-work/parenting related
so I wasn't going to work this summer, but I just got a call from an agency offering me 6 hours a week for a 6 week summer program. The pay is great and they are flexible with the days and hours. I am going to accept the offer b/c I have coverage for my DS. What I am wondering is, should I split it up over two AM (3 hours each) or do one long day (8:30-2). Because its hourly i dont get a break and I am afraid working 5.5-6 hours hours straight while being pregnant (and having m/s) will be too much. Plus the children are emotional disturbed so I am not sure how severe they will be too. However, the place is 40 minutes from my house and I have to cross a bridge, so I dont know if it's worth it to split over 2 days if I am only going be there for 3 hours. Plus then it's 2 days away from my son, when I wasn't even going to work this summer. By the time I would get out of work, he would be going down for a nap so I wouldn't even get to him till he gets up later in the afternoon. Which would you do, suck it up and get it done in 1 day or split it up over two days? TIA!

Re: WWYD-work/parenting related
Hands down, 1 day. If you didn't get pregnant to have your 1st trimester during the summer months you'd be working far more than just that one 6 hour stretch so I don't think that's much of an issue. The commute should be 40 min but if you're crossing a bridge you might be looking at more than an hour on any given day, which adds 2 hours (unpaid time) to your work week. Not worth it IMO.

I see you are not due until Feb, so if I were you I would suck it up & do one day.

One day, no question. Travel time/costs will make your take home pay less if you have to split it up....a 6 hour day is still not too bad.

One day.
Unless you have some kind of medical related condition, I can't see opting to work the 2 day schedule.

Re: WWYD-work/parenting related
that's what I was thinking, do the one day and get it over with Even though it's just one day, I had horrible m/s with my DS-literally sick and throwing up day and night with 24 hour nausea. So far this pregnant i have it but its not as severe yet. I think that would be my only concern, if it happens like before. While 6 hours doesn't seem like a lot to some, and under regular conditions is doable, when your that sick, it is an eternity! Hopefully, it won't happen though. Thanks guys!
