my grandma is a milder version of that. My grandpa died 10 years ago and she's very, very bitter. She yells at people, isn't nice to her friends and makes fun of all their husbands. She's angry that this happened to her and as I'm sure you know, so is your mom.
Take it one step at a time. Do you (or her) think the doctor is working? Just me, but when my mom died a doctor just didn't do it for me. I had to grieve on my own....and still am. I know you can't do it ALL the time, but maybe turn your head once in awhile. Or, don't scream back, just tell her she's wrong and walk out.
