I feel for ya...we have 2-3 people/couples who do this to us ALL the time...we actually think its funny now and say, how much should be bet they cancel.
I wish we could just stop inviting them!

 I never plan on people like that ever showing up!!! If I mail invites, I never mail to them...just an oral invite....they hardly ever show up for anything!!!
