Re: from ny to va - meet me half way...

Atlantic City? The Spa at the Borgata is phenomenol.....well, I guess A/C isn't really considered "relaxing".....but you'd have a great time!!! You can stay at a "cheaper" hotel and make reservations at the Spa....then party the night away at Mixx.

Also, there is a GREAT Christmas store up the Black Horse Pike (hmmm...maybe it's the White horse pike??)...ah, either way...if you ask around, somebody will know where it is. Unbelievable place!!! I bought about $800 worth of Christmas goodies there a few years ago. It's so beautiful during the XMas season too.

ETA: Cape May? But it's really chilly and very out of season in Decemeber.

What about Philadelphia. I think there is a Four Seasons there. Maybe you could find a nice spa resort in Delaware?

Maryland is kind of near the middle---my good friend lives in VA and we met in Maryland one time--it was about 3-4 hrs for each of us. Baltimore is nice and there are some nice hotels in the inner harbor.

Longwood Gardens outside Wilmington, Deleware -- I haven't been but have heard they are beautiful. And the area is gorgeous.
