X-Post: 2 miscarriages, MTHFR hetero and about to try again - looking for advice!
I am new here - this is my first post! My friend introduced me to LI Families and it has been really amazing reading your posts.
I have had two miscarriages this year, both around 6-7 weeks. We have had a host of testing done, including the Consyl genetic testing and translocation testing, all mostly normal. The only thing that came back was positive for MTHFR heterozygous, but my homocysteine levels were normal, so my OB said there should be no problems with carrying a pregnancy, so to go ahead and try again.
We are ready to start trying again I'm of course getting nervous about another miscarriage and wondering if there aren't other simple things I could do. I saw others have posted about taking methylated folate, B6 or baby aspirin when they were MTHFR heterozygous.
I was hoping others could share their advice and ideas on this topic, and any recommendations for acupuncturists or even if we should be going to an RE (and which one). Just feeling a little lost and anxious and thought I could use some support from others going through similar situations. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Welcome. I hope your stay here is short.
In the past for acupuncture I have used Alexandra Gerazounis in Williston Park. She is really good, but a little pricey. My RE is Dr Trivax at RS of NY in Mineola. They have other locations but he is my favorite RE.

Feel free to contact me about MTHFR, it goes well beyond homocysteine levels. Research "methylation" and you will see :)
Honestly one of the most crucial supplements you should take is b12 but knowing what type of b12 can relate to other polymorphisms you may have (SNP) MTHFR is just one polymorphism.
Determining which B12 relates to VDR (vitamin D receptor) and COMT. Many of those who are dealing with implantation failure, and recurrent pregnancy loss have issues with 'methylation' because pathogenic/viral load may be making the genes express. (epigenetics).

I carried twins to term & have MTHFR-2 genes of C677t. I also have PAI-1 I did not take lovenox & had normal pregnancy...even with twins

Wow, that's also great to hear, that it is possible to have a normal pregnancy w/ MTHFR, w/o making any changes. Thank you so much for sharing.
