Re: x-post: About organic baby food, cleaning products, etc.
I chose to go organic because I felt that my babies were so pure that I didn't want to introduce more contaminants than necessary into their little bodies.
I never used jars, but Earth's Best seems like a good choice. I made all baby food and continue to make all their meals.
I buy a ton of food at Trader Joe's and most of my cleaning products are by Method or Seventh Genereation. They're "green" but not organic. Stop and Shop does have a really nice array of organic fruits, veggies and random other products like rice, etc.
In the begiinning I only gave them organic veggies/fruits, no growth hormone/anti-biotic meat, organic dairy and eggs. I'm still pretty strict about it but if we're out, the babies will eat what we get at a restaurant.

I chose to go organic because there are so many chemicals and pesticides all around us, while we can't eliminate all of them, it make sense to try to reduce your intake of them as much as possible. I got more serious about organic food when I got pregnant and try to give DS organic food as often as possible.
Trader Joe's has a great selection of organic products at really good prices. Stop'n'Shop also has a decent selection and Costco carries some organic products, as well.
For me, the most important organic food items are meat, produce, milk and eggs. I usually try to get these organic, but may buy conventional versions of other items.
I don't eat strictly organic (although I wish I did). It's just not practical for me.
I made most of DS's baby food, but I would use Earth's Best occassionally. I give him Stonyfield yogurt.

We're an all organic family, and I have noticed a change in my health and DH's since switching over.
If you want to slowly make the change start with produce and meats, then buy everything else (pastas, herbs, etc)
We also have a lot of probiotics in our diets, we all drink kefir every morning and we all haven't been sick in a long long time (knock on wood).
When we're out we eat and Mom and Pop restaurants, no fast food chains. I tried eating McDonalds once after switching and I felt like crap for a week!
Try Trader Joe's or Fairway. Whole foods can be $$

I choose organic too. A bit hard to do it 100% but I try my best.
