x-post: Anyone ever get really sick after a cruise?

We got back from a western caribbean cruise 2 weeks ago and have been sick ever since. And I mean REALLY sick, to the point of wanting to go to the hospital for the severity of the pain and burning in my stomach. Symtoms are nausea, vomiting, pain and burning in stomach and fever. My two little daughters and now my hubby have this as well.

I've been doing some research and it seems as though TONS of people that I know (and lots that I don't know) have gotten really sick after returning from a cruise.

I'm freaked.

I'm also worried about a possible parasite....we had some drinks in Mexico and also went swimming in a pool there...however we were assured that it was safe.

Anyone have any insight?

I have been on several cruises to many different places and on many different cruise lines and I have never had a problem. Maybe it is just a stomache virus that is being passed on?

I would think that if it was anything else everyone should have had it at the same time.

I've never been on a cruise, but I would definitely call a dr. if I felt the way you do.
Maybe they can do some blood work.

I would go to the doctor. I got sick after coming home from Mexico- it was not a cruise. You may need some anti-biotics to kick it- Feel better!
