Re: X-POST: Better Deal??
Hmm...I think that soft drinks should be included if anything. One mimosa or bloody mary is not going to last for 3 hours. Any chance to include drinks other then alcohol? But I have to say Im a big fan of alcohol (pre pregnancy ofcourse)...and when its not your shower its nice to sit back and drink while you open your gifts. JMO

I didn't ask about just having a soft drink package, but I figured with the open tab, the guests can order whatever they want to drink--OJ, mixed drinks, wine, beer, soda etc. I'm just afraid that the bill will be .

Re: X-POST: Better Deal??
As somebody that used to be a general manager of a few restaurants and helped with plenty of party planning in a few venues, I can assure you, that unless you KNOW ahead of time that you'll have a big group of drinkers on hand...it's not worth the extra money to have mimosas or bloody mary's included. I supervised probably 12-15 brunch showers at one of my last restaurants and I can only remember 1 party that the host actually got her money's worth for having alcohol included. And that group partied till about 6 pm--and then went to the bar afterwards!!! The majority of the rest of the parties overpaid and didn't even use the drink options.
I would recommend having just coffee, tea, and soft drinks and if a couple of people want a bloody mary or mimosa, then they can order separately. Now, if it were an afternoon event or evening event--I'd have a WHOLE other opinion.
You'll have to see what the guest list looks like and judge from there. That's my best suggestion.
