Re: X-Post from Careers: Seasonal Retail Employment?
I was loking into this 2 years ago . I was told to go or call Macys, Bloomingdales or any big stores and they 'll tell you where you have to go. I went to bloomingdales HR office last year , but the line was too long and I changed my mind. Not sure if you can do it online You cam go online or call and find out. Hope this helps. Good luck

I did it one year with Fortunoffs..they paid very well and I was in gift wrapping, I didn't want to get involved with being a cashier.

I've done it for electronic retailers like Best Buy & Circuit City. You should go NOW because they want you to be trained in time for black friday shoppers and thereafter. The outlets in Deer Park have places that are still looking for seasonal employment.

So basically call or go in person? I actually live in NJ now but there is a new outlet center opening here in a couple of weeks so I thought I might try there, and also dept stores....

Do you know what the company is that is running the outlets? If its Tanger you can go online and see which stores might be trying to hire right now.
I would just go in person to any stores you are interested in, some of them have signs up saying they are looking for seasonal employment. Best times are during the week -- if you can go in the daytime that's even better -- but if not you can always go around 6 or 7 pm on a random weekday. Some places will have computer stations and such in their stores where you can apply. Also check online to see if you can find any applications online, fill them out, and have them ready when you go into the store.
