I know I don't post on here a lot but after 3 long years, I wanted to give my final update on my road to becoming a mother. I know LIF can be quite a revolving door, so for those of you who don't know/remember; 3 years ago my husband and I decided to take in his cousins infant son. Alexander Joseph was placed in our home as a foster kid on September 16, 2010. We nicknamed him AJ and in my heart that was the day I became a mom. After three long incredible years of driving back and forth to Maryland for court and fighting with Baltimore CPS, NJ DYFS and the paternal father (who is incarcerated btw) - I am happy to say that the Adoption was finalized this past Wednesday, June 19, 2013. It was a struggle because there were many mishaps, blunders and mistakes made and legally it should not have taken this long. However, in the end we made it and he is legally my son.

Congrats!! I know the adoption process through foster care isn't an easy road to take.

Thank you again. He is truly a blessing! Although it may be hard at times because this was something I took on unexpectedly, I know it was right and it was destiny. I cant explain it; it's like he was put on this earth to be my child, its surreal.
