I started with the fun stuff first. We bought the stroller ourselves. Then my parents were nagging us because they wanted to buy us our nursery furniture so we did it.
I basically copied a lot of stuff that was on my friend's registry and used the BRU registry list. I bought the baby bargains book. I read a lot of reviews on BRU too.

similar to the other responses you've received. consumer reports, friends advice, etc. i've found the babies r us website extremely useful with all the reviews!!

I took into account advice from friends & family with kids, and mostly, got the Baby Bargains & Baby Consumer Reports books!! Let me know if you need any info from them!
