I had one with DS#2.
You will have a regular sonogram, so yes, you WILL see your baby. The tech then focusses on your baby's heart and performs a fetal-echo that way. Its NON-invasive. It took about an hour for mine to be completed, and the cardiologist was in the next room reading the echo as the tech was performing it.
