I do volunteer work with the Atlanta Humane Society. Well Saturday I get an urgent call that over 500 puppies were rescued from a puppy mill in Tenn.
My shelter was sent over 200 of them. So instead of my errands, yesterday I spent the day at the shelter. I walk in and never saw anything like this. The dogs were a MESS! Dirty, flee infested, some with scrapes and bites, scared, and dying for love and attention. We have been working around the clock, grooming, spaying/neutering, placing chips and classifying each dog. Very soon most of these dogs will be ready for adoption!!!
I seriously almost left with a little yorkie...good thing I leave my credit cards at home!
So this is good news, 500 puppies rescued and they will be found wonderful homes.

It really is gratifying. I knew I enjoyed this work but I seriously got the call and changed my entire day to be there. These animals mean so much to me.
Time can be an issue, but I have been typically doing about 8 hours a month so far. It's what I can handle for now...every little bit helps.

That's awesome! What wonderful work you do!
Be sure to let us know when he dogs are ready for adoption (and where we would go to look)! There are lots of animal lovers looking for new friends on here!

That is amazing news
I am very against puppymills and try to educate people on what they are, and how they treat animals.
I donate money to puppymillrescue they save animals and get the vet care, and put them in foster homes, and then forever homes.
All their employees are volunteers and receive no money. SO all donations go to helping the animals.
