I got the Mirena after my second. I got my AF back 9 weeks pp, even when I BF. Once I had it in, i bled lighty for about 3-4 weeks Chat Icon but after that, the two periods I did get were so light! Then I stopped getting AF.. Once in while I'll spot, but that's it. I love it!

I did start getting AF when I got mine put in. I don't know if you really call it AF or just the spotting that comes with the IUD. The spotting can last 3 months. Once that stopped I had a regular period for a few months then nothing. It was really nice having no AF and knowing I wasn't pregnant.

So both you ladies got it a few times then that was it? That sounds pretty good to me.

Re: x-post IUD

I am thinking of going on the copper IUD (I cannot have anything with hormones in it) , has anyone had experience when coming off of it, how easy or difficult it is to get pregnant again? I know we want more kid(s) probably in 2 1/2 or 3 years. TIA

Depends on your insurance. Most people just pay a doctor co-pay for the visit. My insurance covered all doc visits pretaining to it. However, my insurance did not cover the actual device Chat Icon I ended up paying for it out of pocket. Close to $500. I figured it was worth it - its good for 5 years and comes out ot be cheaper than the pill.

Thanks. I am worried about "checking the strings" though-lol! I don't even like finding my tampon-lol!
