Somehow I think that no matter what Obama would not buy a designer dog to take into the White House--as that would be frowned upon by so many groups (ASPCA, Humane Society, Stop Puppy Mills, etc).
I think he's definitely gonna get a rescued puppy. ::fingers crossed::

I agree he will go the rescue route, I have to admit I find it funny thinking about a puppy peeing in the white house . Heads of state watching out for puppy poop. Ok maybe i just have a sick sense of humor.
ETF spelling.

Didn't someone in his camp already say that he plans to adopt from a shelter? I believe I heard that on CNN last night.

Whether he's already chosen to adopt a puppy or not, it doesn't hurt anyone to join...so I did!

I hear that one of his daughters is allergic to dogs so it has to be a hypoallergenic dog?
Poodles and Wheaten terriers where mentioned in an article I read.
I really hope they get a shelter or pound dog. And maybe it doesn't have to be an 8 week old puppy, but a 2 year old doggie that needs a good home.
that will be one lucky dog!

I forgot what I was watching but he did say that if he won they would adopt a rescue dog - but that they would need it to be Hyper allergenic.

This newsday article says that Michelle said that they would try to get it form a shelter but they may not be able to get what they need form ashelter (hypoallergenic, young dog)
