X-Post: Poll: BCP & Pregnancy
I posted this on the TTC board but I thought it would be better to post on here too. I am thinking of going off BCP in the next 6 months and was just wondering how long it took everyone to get pregnant once they came off BCP.

2 mnths later I got pregnant but I think the Docs prefer you wait a certain amount of time so your body has time to get rid of all the chemicals so I would call your OB doc

Both pregnancies I have been pregnant before I had my first period off of BCP...my doctor said it only helps in determining a due date to be off of bcp prior to becoming pregnant...

I just started my pack a little late and got pregnant right away. I was planning on going off the pill at the end of the year and was really scared it would take me a long time to get pregnant after going off. I guess I was wrong (and very happy to be wrong!). My dr said it's no big deal and won't have any effects on baby.

Every doctor is different, but mine told me I could start TTC right after coming off BCP. I've heard the chemicals are out of your system within 24 hours. I think some doctors recommend waiting a few months in order to regulate your period and to get a better estimate of your due date.

1st pregnancy 2 months
This pregnancy about 10 days (honestly we thought it would take a lot longer so we were both shocked!)

I got pregnant the 2nd month after coming off a BCP but promptly had a miscarriage. I got pregnant again 3 months later.

I went off the pill in April and started taking my prenatals then. We started officially trying August. Got pregnant October.
