At 3.5 months you "probably" won't even be showing that much. I would suggest waiting until closer to the party before buying anything. If you know you have some other things coming up that you could wear the same dress for, then I would get a maternity dress. If you have nothing else and you're not that big yet, I would probably buy an inexpensive non-maternity dress with an empire waist. That way you could always use it after your pregnancy.

Careful with buying a dress.

I'm right at 3.5 mos and my body changes weekly.

Pants I bought about 1 month ago don't fit... and my breasts outgrew all my dresses (which are tighter in the breast area).

You can wear nice pants & dressy top or a dress. Either goes. Been to a bunch of these 1st birthday blow-outs.
