Depends on what games you want to play. Of course, some are only available on one or the other. Usually there is one that you want on one, and a different game for the other one.

DH has X-Box 360, he bought it last yr for Xmas, now he wants PS3, just so he can have both. The playstation 3 plays Bluray DVD's and I think HDDVD also, the graphics on the PS3 are insane, they are pretty insane on the X-box also. I guess it is just prefrence really. A complete waste of money if you ask me, but whatever.

Dh has never liked the playstation, he says the xbox has better games.

I don't have either, but I've seen this debate on other forums. Depending on the audience, this debate can get more heated than religion or politics!  
I personally don't like Microsoft, so I would buy a PS3, given the choice. My next system I'm planning on getting is a Wii. We have young DC, so I think Nintendo is more geared towards them.

I got DH the XBox 360 last Christmas. He had a choice of the two and he wanted the XBox. He says it's better for gamers.

It depends on who you ask. My DH is all about the xbox. He loves his 360. He says the games are better, and it is just a better system overall, with better technology.

I used to have a PS2 and liked it. I got an XBOX and liked the graphics better. I now have a few original XBOXs and an XBOX 360. I would say that I enjoy all my XBOX's and wouldn't get a PS3 unless the price dropped drastically. My nephew has a PS3 and I have played it plenty of times and no rumble in the controller is a drawback but you do you the gyro option which is really cool.
