XP: Question for those who participate in charity programs like NYCares Winter Wishes

or the Salvation Army Adopt an Angel. Include gift receipt? Shop at store convenient to them?

I do always include a gift receipt.
I prefer to not ship directly from the web. I am always afraid that the correct information will not be on the packing list. So i usually mail them myself wrapped and include a holiday card from my family with the gift receipt.

I always include the gift receipt... I tape it to the back of the box.
I wrap and ship the packages myself.. I usually 2 two wishes and they are from the same social worker- so I wrap everything and put it together.

i'm doing this for the first time and was planning to have jcpenny take care of it for me... but now i'm thinking of possible mistakes.

i think i'll deliver it instead of having it done for me... i'll be in philly on 12-4, anyway

I've done it through NYCares and because they're very specific about how the package and gift should be labeled, i always wrap the gift myself. I'd hate for a gift to not be received because of a mistake on someone else's part

I haven't included the gift receipt in the past because its usually been a specific toy that the kid has asked for (and i'd hate to think that a parent would try to return the gift and get something for themselves..)
But if i was getting clothes, i think it would be a good idea.

This will be my 3rd year (NY cares). I get two kids a year. I never send the gift receipt....but maybe I will this year.

I wrap it myself. They are specific with how to label it. Good question!

I wasn't asking about how to send it, but if you make an effort to shop at a store that is in the neighborhood of the recipient so they can return it easily if needed, or if you shop where it's cheapest so you can get them more items, but not really convenient to them, KWIM?
