We are taking DS to the city to see the tree, eat @ Mars 2112, and to a hockey game...
We are planning on driving- Does anyone have any tips for me?(like where is a good place to park?- we are planning on doing the tree & the restaurant and then driving to MSG, then home...) Any must haves to bring with me for Ry?
Is someone has specific directions to- that'd be great!

There is no way you are going to be able to drive to the tree. You are better off parking it by the Garden and either walking or hailing a cab. It took us an hour to get close the tree last night so leave ample time.

See my issue is DS stroller- I really dont wanna have to lug it- and if its real cold that day- I really dont wanna keep him out that long....
Can I park near the restaurant?

Re: XP- So next weekend
We were just in the city today. Honestly, I would seriously reconsider driving - it was mayhem! And I would think next week would be worse. To even get close to the tree, you are going to have to walk at least part of the way.
That restaurant is in Times Square - driving there is going to be horrendous also, IMO.
If you must drive, I would get to the City as early as humanly possible. We were there by 9am this morning and the roads were already congested.
ETA: If your final destination is MSG, why not park there and take the subway to the other places? A subway will get you close to both the tree and the restaurant.

Re: XP- So next weekend
Look at this site- Icon Parking- they give their locations and it looks like you may be able to reserve in advance (I think). I know some of my co-workers have also found discounts, but for a Saturday during the holidays I'd be surprised if you were able to get one.
Regardless, driving into the city will be hectic enough- I'd go straight to a garage and not even try to find street parking.

Re: XP- So next weekend
See- does anyone know how the whole carseat thing in the cab works? Because I would have no problems taking the train- but then Im stuck- w/o being able to get a cab because of DS (since I obviously wont be carrying a carseat around...)
I could do the train and the subway I guess... anyone know what cars Id have to take?
* Also this may be a stupid question- but I dont need a carseat for the train and or suway -right?

Re: XP- So next weekend
You definitely don't need a carseat for the train/subway. Cabs, my gut says no, but honestly, I don't know for sure, plus I'm not sure if you're even comfortable without a carseat.
I would keep an eye on the weather for next week. Your locations are all within walking distance (we did it today and it was fine) if the weather cooperates.
Subways - you could take the 1, 2, 3, 9 to the middle of Times Square and be pretty close to everything.

No- I would never put him in a cab w/o a carseat- but I was wondering how people usually do it???
ETA- So I guess Ill just bring my small stroller- if its cold take the subway to my locations or walk...
Anyone know what trains Id have to take to go from Penn to the tree?? And how close is Mars2112 to the tree?

The B, D, F and V trains go right to Rockefeller Center - You can get them at the Herald Square/34th & Broadway train station.
The restaurant is at 51st and broadway which is just 3-4 blocks from the tree.
