ok... so DH and i just moved this summer. the house happens to be pretty much right across the street from the school i work at, and a few of the kids from the school live in the nieghborhood.
i grew up in the " country" and we never got many trick or treaters growing up, and i hear we get a lot in this new neighborhood. so i'm SO SO excited to actually have trick or treaters on halloween and actually get to give out candy.
BUT.. the problem is, many of the trick or treaters we'll get are students at my school. i really don't know if i want to answer the door and have them ( and their parents!) know where i live. at the same time, i don't want to miss out on giving out candy, which i've never gotten to do before!
should i just suck it up, or maybe buy a mask or something???

I also live in the neighborhod close to my school.
For me, it is what it is.
I live here, they live here. They mostly all know I live around here, because it is a pretty small town.
For me, I'd get the treats and start answering the door!

i answered on the other thread, but i would have DH answer the door or definitely get a mask. you don't want parents knowing where you live--you never know when you'll have a crazy parent who can walk to your front door if they're upset with you!

I put the candy outside in a bowl with a sign that says "Happy Halloween! Enjoy!" I've done this for the last few years and I've never had a problem with kids taking too much at once, etc.

This year more than ever I need to do this because my daughter will only be 9 days old and I will not be running back and forth to the door with a newborn!

i say get a mask or have your husband answer the door. i think you need to separate your personal life and private life... and kids and parents can get weird. you don't want them knowing where you live IMO
