Xpost - Childcare or PreSchool Suggestions in Nassau County?
Hi girls...I may have posted this already a while back but I am in need of reputable childcare and/or PreSchool rec's in the Merrick/Bellmore area. I can even go to Farmingdale or Melville because that is where I work.
I have a 3yo and I would prefer to put him in pre school but every place I have looked into so far is VERY expensive.
Any ideas? TIA
Jess

My nephew went to big chief in Levittown. Not sure if that's far from you but I know that Bellmore and Levittown can boarder each other.

I've heard good things about Pixie in Wantagh. Also Maplewood but they are expensive.
For my dd for next year we're leaning toward St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, this year the preschool is at St Frances in Wantagh but it's moving to St. Bernards in Bellmore in Sept.

I've heard very good things about Prime Time in Farmingdale from several people.

What age do they start taking them at St Bernards?

3 years old. So this year we're doing a drop off playgroup at Our Redeemer in Seaford. it's for 2.5 year olds, $135 a month, 1.5 hours 2x a week. Sarah has really bad stranger anxiety, so I wanted her to get over that before we enroll her in a preschool.

Farmingdale United Methodist Church has a great program too. When my son was there, it was 2 1/2 hours at $15/day and you can pick and choose which days your child goes on. They aren't strict on a set schedule. He/she can go 1,2,3,4 or 5 days. and they have a morning session and an afternoon session.

See I wanted a school setting for Sept but DS won't be 2 until Oct but Wee Friends has a 2 year old program so we'll go there but I'm definitely keeping my eyes and ears open in case I'm not happy!

I would not recommend Big chief in East Meadow. MY son went there for 2 yrs and what was I thinking! He and many of his friends were miserable.
Twin Oaks is supposed to have a wonderful nurturing environment.
