Re: XPost: Anyone work in daycare
There is a class you can take. It's one night per week for 4 hrs and it runs from Sept until May. The class allows you to work as a teacher while pursuing your certification.

Yes, I took the course through the child care council of nassau, but you can also work in a day care and get the hours (Not sure if that is acceptable to get the certification) when I did it you needed both because I was working in a day care and taking the course.

So if I take this class I can apply for a position at a center while in attendance and help meet the qualifications for the CDA?
Is it difficult to get a position in a daycare center...I am guessing my lack of experience will count against me.
Do you know where I can get info on this class?

I'll get you the info on the class etc and FM you as soon as I have it.
I wouldn't say it's difficult. It will depend upon your availability. Are you a college graduate or have college classes? That sometimes works in your favor as well. FM me if you want.

Thanks so much!!!
I have my BS in Business Administration with a concentration in HR. Not sure if that will mean anything in this process.

Eventually and while I have the time I thought I'd look into it...when I am serious I am dedicated...so I'll do whatever is required so long as I know what that is.
For now I am still a corporate girl.
