Re: Xpost- Breastfeeding while pregnant
My mom did it with all of us. If you still have milk and want to do it, I say go for it! My mom always said that she thought it made her milk come in faster and better with the next baby.
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding has a great section on this, if you have that book.

my cousin was I believe up to 3 months preg, but her Dr. told her she needed to stop. I would ask your OB.

I've heard a lot of OB's tell women to stop, but LC and midwives all say to go for it! The only thing negative I've heard about it is it can change the taste of your milk and sometimes DC ends up self-weaning because of it.

My SIL has breastfed through her pregnancies and then continues to BF more than one child at a time once she gives birth again. It can certainly be done.

Re: Xpost- Breastfeeding while pregnant
I bf ds until he was 14 months and I was 10 weeks pregnant with dd. Ds self weaned just like my peri said he would. My ob was pressuring me to force wean him but my perinatologist said it was not necessary. The peri said the taste of the milk will change and ds will self wean when ready. He was right. I did have some cramping when he nursed but the peri said it was perfectly normal and the same as BH contractions. It was not hurting me or the baby and I could keep going as long as I wanted to.

Re: Xpost- Breastfeeding while pregnant
I made it to DS's first bday...exactly one year of BFing...and I had to stop because my supply totally tanked when I got pregnant. I was 2 months preggo when I stopped. My midwife told me it would be better to stop sooner than later b/c BFing causes the uterus to contract..she wanted me to stop before the second trimester, but I didn't even make it that far. But I was okay with it b/c at least I made it to the one year mark, which was my goal.
Congrats! Happy & healthy 9 months!
