I personally would wear dark brown. I think the rule of thumb is that the shoe should be as dark as the the bottom of the pants.

i wore my navy suit yesterday and wore powder blue shoes (my shirt was white and light blue) my suit was a very dark navy though.
I hate navy suits, i think they look best with navy shoes.

I think the rule of thumb is that the shoe should be as dark as the the bottom of the pants.
really- I never heard that-
I always wear tan pumps with my black suit- and I get stopped on the street by people telling me how great it looks

Yea, I noticed in some GQ mag. Maybe that applies only to men???

good to know! I didn't even consider burgundy.

I thought it would be the same.
I think I've heard to wear the same color shoe or darker to elongate the legs and make you look taller, but I could be wrong.
I usually wear navy blue heels with my navy suit, or red heels to match a red blouse that I wear with the suit.

I have dark gray and wine color shoes that I wear in the winter with navy or stone and navy/white that I wear in the Summer.

I would wear brown or tan....of course navy would be best but I hate navy shoes!
