me and DH bought the house in october 2012 ... 2 days before closing we found out the taxes in the listing were not correct and actually about $1100 more than we thought ... fine not happy but i figure it is what it is ... well i wouldnt of been fine if i would have known that taxes go up over $2200 in one year... is this the norm?
i am in shock i had no idea taxes go up that much and if i would have known i would have really reconsidered buying our house.
If it goes up that much every year i really dont know if we are going to stay; we may not be able to afford it eventually

XPOST From HOME:Property taxes .. how much do they usually go up
Out first year in the house they did go up about a 2000, a senior citizen owned the house so there were tax exemption we didn't qualify for. We've been here 4 years and they never went up again until this year, only by $300

Thanks senior citizens did live in the house before is and I know they got exemptions we didn't get but that's not the jump. I knew what the Actual taxes were and that's what's gone up 
Glad to hear though that I shouldn't expect yearly
