xpost from multiples: question for BTDTmoms: feeding
Okay, the girls are a couple of days shy of 9 months, and mealtimes have become a three ring circus. Why/when did this happen?
We started the stage 3 type foods two weeks ago, and they seem to be bored, I guess with it. They both reach for the bowl, spoon, and of course, they are grabbing and holding each other's hand during meals and laughing and talking to each other. Their highchairs are next to each other, should I separate them, are they having to much fun. Or is this an indication that they are ready for table foods.
Please any advice!!! I don't want to get to the point of extreme frustration!!!

Re: xpost from multiples: question for BTDTmoms: feeding
My DD is the same age - she will be 9 months this week and she is the same way - not with the foods, but with the bottle. She is definitley more concerned with what is going on around her than eating the bottle!
We have started giving her table foods, and she loves them. I think that they are just starting to learn that they can do for themselves and want to do that. Have you tried giving them anything that they can eat themselves?

thank you for your response.
I have not given them any foods, they can eat themself. I guess I will attempt that this week.

Re: xpost from multiples: question for BTDTmoms: feeding
this is when the "i want to eat alone" stage kicks in.
Some suggestions
let them hold their utensil while you feed them
put some puffs or cheerios for them to learn to feed themselves while you sneak some bites in
start offering them table food
We never it made it to stage 3 foods...he started eating table food
american cheese egg whites pancakes french toast
