XPost from the PG board- What to bring to a new mommy in the hospital?
So I'm sooo soo excited because my best friend had her today! I'm going to visit her tomorrow and I feel like I should bring something. Anyone have any suggestions?

I wanted an extra large bottle of water & a vanilla shake.
How about something just for her? GC somewhere?

oohhh yes! take back my first idea. I second the gift cert....maybe for a mani and pedi or massage? she will appreciate something just for her...she'll get enough gifts for the baby!

All I wanted was Raspberry Iced Tea Really though, even a small rattle is nice. I loved when people brought me picture frames too

All I wanted was some decent food
Considering I delivered at Manhasset, and there are several steak places in the area, I would have loved delivery from Bryant and Cooper
I agree with the others, something for the mommy. A nice shower gel or hand lotion GC to a favorite store
Some bring flowers and plants and while they are nice, I always felt the last thing I have time to take care of are flowers and plants.

I totally agree on the yummy ready to eat food suggestion -- maybe a box of cookies from the bakery?

I brought my friend a whole bag full of snacks. Trust me, when you have visitors you forget to eat. Then when everyone leaves you are starving!!!

I got cookies and snacks, which I loved as well as my other visitors, LOL.
Is there something that she didn't eat while pg that she will want to eat now, like coffee or something like that?

Re: XPost from the PG board- What to bring to a new mommy in the hospital?
Someone brought me a big box of ruggelagh (sp?) when I had my DD and believe it or not it was the best gift. I brought a friend a vanilla milkshake when I saw her at the hospital after her c/s. She was still on liquids but was so happy.
I'd bring something for the baby as well but I bet some kind of pastry or yummy snack would be really appreciated.
ETA: LMAO! I just read some of the other replies and I see we are all thinking the same way

One of my best friends brought me a stack of those gossipy celebrity magazines - I had a c-section so I was in the hospital from tues-sat. I shared them with my roommate and we read all of them.
