XPosted from LIW: Those who have been to the Sandals in St Lucia...
I heard a rumor that you have to book reservations for dinner in advance- like weeks in advance. I was just wondering if this is true- and if it is, how I would go about doing that. We leave for our HM in 2 weeks, and I already know that there are some restaurants that I would already like to go to- I just wouldnt want to be disappointed if we got there and we couldnt go to the restaurants we want to. Thanks!!

Which Sandals? We stayed at Halcyon and did not make any reservations. Though you should check when you get there- I asked, and was told no. We ate at Mario's one night, we were among the first there and later they turned people away who did not have reservations.

We are staying at the Grande. Someone who went there just wrote on tripadvisor.com that you have to make reservations......but our travel agent never said anything about making reservations.

I have been to the grande 2x. I have never had to make reservations weeks in advance. Infact I never made reservations for the grande, only a couple of restaurants at the halcyon and regency. These were made while away only 2 days in advance. I would not worry about it!

If you want to visit the other Sandals on the island, the Pier and Marios at Halcyon were both very, very good.

I stayed at the Grande. We had the Conceirge level - we would call them the day before and they made the reservations for us. One restaurant was booked the night we wanted to go - so we made it for another night. Booking before you go - I am not sure if you have to do that.
There were only a couple (2-3) restaurants that you had to make reservations for. I forget which ones though - sorry

We loved Barefoot by the sea, so we could eat on the beach at night. Also for breakfast Toscanini's makes great banana french toast. For a midday snack go to Josephines the crepery, have the chocolate waffle with ice cream! YUM At the regency I recommend Kimonos...hibachi style japenese. Have fun! I wish I was going again.
