Re: spinoff: Swaddle Me or Miracle Blanket...
We used regular blankets for the first 12 weeks, but then she started breaking out of it at night and waking up. So we didn't get the Miracle Blanket until she was 3 months old...as soon as we started using it, she was sleeping through the night within a week.
I only wish I had gotten it sooner...

Unless you studied extensively under Dr. Karp, there is no way you can get a regular blanket swaddle as tight and secure as the Miracle Blanket.

Re: spinoff: Swaddle Me or Miracle Blanket...
I still swaddle my 4 and a half month old daughter with the hospital blanket. my Mom works in the hospital so I was able to get a few extra. The other blankets did not work with my daughter-she broke out within seconds. It IS possible to swaddle tightly with a regular blanket - it just takes practice! My daughter looks like a little sausage but she slept through the night when we started swaddling her really tight. Different hospitals use different swaddling techniques.
